This year, Malaysia is honored to be the hosting country for the 11th SIFE World Cup competition. Being the heart of Asia, Malaysia is very excited to open its doors to welcome the other 37 competing SIFE teams into its multi-cultural and diversity-rich nation. The event was held on the 3rd-5th October 2011 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

SIFE World Cup competition opens it’s gate of exciting competition with the magnificent and dazzling display of cultures from all of the 37 competing team. ‘ Culture Fair’, is one of the annual event for every SIFEr to share their culture to the world. Be it origin foods, traditional games, colorful costumes, catchy dances,or musical instruments, this fair really made an impact for the SIFErs. What’s there not to try? Besides learning other countries interesting heritance, this fair also boost our spirit way up high. It’s really acts as a ground for mental and physical preparation for the real deal- the presentation of projects.

The Opening Ceremony went smoothly and we have the chance to see the nation’s parade. When they came on the stages, we feel proud of them.Those faces, the SIFErs, are a sign that each one of them are prepared for the competition, and they are here for their beloved country. Other than that, special events such as the Top-to-Top and Top-to-Future Top Forums were held, further enhance learning opportunities for participants.

We have lots of fun after the Opening Ceremony has ended. WE had an amazing KLCC Lakeside picnin, and we had lots of memories in the journey. Shopping in Times Square, Bukit Bintang, hosting dinner for SIFE Germany, observing other country team as well. Throughout the 3 days period, we feel like a whole new person.

We’ve seen the most up and down moment during this World Cup and we’re eager to share it with you guys! Nearly 3,000 students , academician and business leaders assembled during this event and from a group of 37 countries.

Finally,

University of Regensburg has been named the SIFE World Cup 2011.

The opening of the activity was started with

SIFE president, Khairun Najmi's briefing about the schedule.

Next, we have Brian, one of our core team member to bring in our SIFE cheer, which is great.

We also have Lee Yen and Bok as our emcee for the night.

We cheered together with the crowds and is an unforgettable moment for all of us.

Right after the first and second cheers,

we have the SIFE member to lead the rest of the us for

This is the first anticipated international seminar on Entrepreneurship and Societal Development in ASEAN organized by the newly formed consortium-AUCEE. The ASEAN Universities Consortium of Entrepreneurship Education (AUCEE) was established early this year by the Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI) of Universiti Utara Malaysia. The establishment of this consortium is to provide a coordinated vehicle through which participating members can collaborate and communicate on the specific issues and challenges confronting university-based entrepreneurship centers.

This seminar is collaboration between The Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI) of Universiti Utara Malaysia; National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN); Universiti Padjajaran (UNPAD), Bandung; Universiti Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) and Prince Songkla of University (PSU), Thailand.

OBJECTIVES:

A) To provide a platform for leaders, academicians, administrators and students of ASEAN countries to meet and exchange views and to share experiences about issues and challenges of entrepreneurship and societal development.

B) To provide the opportunity to build network and develop potential areas and to share human and material assets as well as to link academic and administrative resources.

This year, SIFE UUM is organizing Malaysia Entrepreneurship And Leadership Convention. It is a 2-days event which provides the opportunity for you to widen you knowledge in both leadership and entrepreneurship. The theme is “Reborn, Reform, Reenergize towards Charisma”. What is SEACHANGE?

SEACHANGE is an ongoing movement connecting Southeast Asian Youths to projects, organizations, businesses, and leaders who can help them with the change they want to see!

The result?

A connected ecosystem for change involving 1 Million youths and the campaigns and organizations which matter.

How Does it Work?

Phase 1 ~ From now till November 16th, 2009

The focus in on our first initiative, the SEACHANGE Youth Report.

This gathers the voice of 1 million youths across Southeast Asia to answer 3 questions:

What change do you want to see in your own personal life?
What change do you want to see in your community and country?
What ideas of campaigns or programmes would you support?

The result?

A first-of-its-kind youth initiated public report presented to every leader in business, government and media out there for them to know what change each segment of youth wants to see… and how to help them.

13th of Oct 2009, SIFE UUM co-operate with COB UUM to organize a Entrepreneur Business Talk for UUM undergraduates. Around 400 participants joined this talk at EDC UUM Hotel to meet Dato' Seri Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia. He came to UUM to share his experience as an entrepreneur in AirAsia.

The topic is: Challenge Your Mind With Tony-The Sky Is Not The Limit

This event has inspired a lots of local and international students who are willing to learn and have a good achievement in business.

During the SIFE Malaysia National Competition 2009 on 21st and 22nd July, SIFE UMS did a great job and emerged as the National Champion of 2009, congratulation!!!

SIFE UUM team joined the competition for the very first time in 2009! Although we can't make it to the finals, but we did get a lot of new knowledge and wonderful experience there! And we will continue to put in our greatest effort for next year's National Competition and we believe we can do it great!

What is SIFE National Competition?

SIFE National Competitions is a forum for teams to present the results of their projects, evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. Teams compete first at the regional and national levels, then at the international level when the national champion teams from each country meet at the SIFE World Cup. SIFE competitions are challenging, team-oriented events that create a sense of accountability and motivation for teams to continually improve the quality of their projects. Their projects address a variety of topics, such as market economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal success skills, environmental sustainability and business ethics. In the presentation, SIFE team will present how their project the criteria. In this year (2009), SIFE world cup will be held in Berlin, Germany.

SIFE UUM at Penang TM UserGroup Networking Meet!

SIFE UUM was invited by John & Jenna (from MyPath Co.) to attend a Penang TM UserGroup Networking Meet on the 12th June 2009, 3pm.

We met the founder aka boss of Auto City, Mr Gary Teoh; Chairman of Joint Business Council Malaysia, Dato' Hj Faudzi; State General Manager of TM, Mr Lai & other businessmen.

SIFE UUM's President, Wai Yan, was elected as the Secretary of TM UserGroup Committee of Penang, representing SIFE UUM.

The Penang TM UserGroup basically is to gain frequent feedbacks and suggestions from the customers for TM to make continuous improvement and to provide a better service to the customers.

The monthly networking meet is a great platform for all SIFERS to expose, interact and to learn by meeting up with people in the business field.

SIFE UUM feel thankful and grateful to John & Jenna for inviting SIFE UUM there! We'll play our role and serve our best!

6th and 7th of June 2009,

SIFE UUM Team has joined BarCamp Penang 09 at Inti College Penang. The team members who joined BarCamp Penang were: Chrysnie Lee, Yi Chin, Khalid, Dawson Lam, Aaron Lee, Ray Beh, Jai Bao, Kian Yeen, Venus Look, Letchumi, and the other 2 new friends named Ahmat and Whalid.

SIFE UUM Team learned different types of knowledge which is not taught in the University. For example: Blue Ocean Strategy, Web Marketing, Make money with blogging, iPhone 3G, and many many more. We were inspired by many Entrepreneurs from different fields through their sharing. Besides that, SIFE UUM team has built a huge network with the youth entrepreneurs and the people from different fields. It's a very great and helpful event for SIFE UUM Team.

During BarCamp Penang, president and vice president(HR Department) of SIFE UUM, Chrysnie Lee and Khalid spoke in a forum which was moderated by Michael Teoh. They shared their ideas related to ENTREPRENEURSHIP. Vice President Of Resources and IT Department also brought the fun to all participants by sharing his Magic Skills (Junoir Magic Tricks)!

SIFE UUM thanks BarCamp Penang, YEM(Youth Entrepreneur Malaysia), Michael Teoh, Jackson Teoh(Chairman Of BarCamp Penang 09), all speakers in BarCamp and all the participants for their sharing & support!!!

What is BarCamp?

BarCamp is basically a very open, participant-driven workshop event where people share knowledge and ideas and expand their social and business network.

There is usually no particular theme. Those people who want to share ideas and knowledge - of any subject, in any field - could register for time and room(Schedule for BarCamp Penang) to host their session. Then, the rest of the people could come to event for free and join any session that they are interested in. If they find that the session uninteresting, they could just leave and go to the next one.
